The Poznań Archaeological Museum is not confined to exhibitions only. It offers a wide and attractive educational programme for schools, families with children, adults and senior citizens. The agenda for schools covers Polish archaeology and prehistory as well as the great ancient civilisations, presented in a clear and easy fashion to complement the school history curriculum. There are special classes for those interested in more detailed studies. The Club of Archaeology Fans is open to secondary school children. Young people and adults can attend classes in ancient languages – hieroglyphics and Mayan glyphics. Following the “learn by play” principle, the Museum’s weekend educational events present families with an opportunity to organise their free time: workshops for the youngest children, various interactive presentations, films about archaeology, and meetings with interesting people – archaeologists, travellers, aficionados. The educational offer is also aimed at attracting adults and senior citizens: attending lectures or visiting the Museum can be a fascinating way to spend leisure time.
