The main aim of the conference is to present the project and its results, but also to show other archaeological works and projects carried out in the Nile Delta and in the neighboring regions – the Upper Egypt and the Southern Levant, essential for understanding the role of the Delta in the 4th millennium B.C.
For the Polish Archaeological mission to the Eastern Nile Delta the workshop is also an opportunity to celebrate 15th anniversary of the excavations at Tell el-Farkha
The workshop organized as a part of the project “The Nile Delta as a centre of cultural interactions between the Upper Egypt and the Southern Levant in the 4th millennium B.C.”, funded by Foundation for Polish Science.
The Symposium is organized by the Poznan Archaeological Museum and all archaeologists or specialists, as long as their work is thematically connected, are invited to attend.
Participation in the workshop is free of charge. The participants are only requested to cover their travel and accommodation costs.
All papers presented during the workshop will be published in February 2014.
